Christin Evans is an entrepreneur & owner of Booksmith, an independent bookstore in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood. In 2017, Christin & her team expanded their literary ventures to The Bindery, a dedicated event space in the space formerly occupied by the Red Vic movie theater.  In 2018, she partnered with restauranteur & bar maven Mikha Diaz to acquire The Alembic bar. Christin, her husband, Praveen Madan, and their senior dog, Joey Pistachio, live in San Francisco’s historic Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, and are active members in the local neighborhood & merchant community groups.
